Paradise 3.5.2 Release Notes
Houston, 14 February 2022 – Geophysical Research, LLC (d/b/a Geophysical Insights) announces the launch of Paradise version 3.5.2, adding performance improvements, several functional enhancements, and bug fixes to the Paradise® AI workbench. Paradise is a multi-attribute seismic analysis workbench that uses machine learning to extract more information from both seismic and well data.
Performance Improvements and Functional Enhancements
- Performance improvements to the Fault Advanced ThoughtFlow®
- Preconditioning volumes can be saved and reused to run the ML Fault Advanced ThoughtFlow, dramatically reducing total run-time
- The Fault Detection ThoughtFlow will now require half of the disk space of prior versions
- Log Curve Binning for Well Log Crossplots, allowing the ability to plot logs with different depth scales and increments
- Updated Wells Manager – now all well related tools are stored in the same easy-to-use interface
- Support for importing .ALUT color bars to ease import and export with Petrel
- Windows 11 Support
- Petrel 2022 Support, including support for nested well folders in Petrel while using the Paradise Petrel Connector
Enhancements to the User Experience
- Improved facies colormap – default is now driven by the polygons from created engine
- Colorbar enhancements for workspace import/export
- Improved handling of Arbline
- Improved information text for ASCII import
- Improved Parameter handling for SOM
- Improved Well Symbols in the map and 3D viewer

About Geophysical Insights
Geophysical Research, LLC (d/b/a Geophysical Insights) was founded in 2008 by Dr. Tom Smith with the vision of applying machine learning methods to geologic interpretation to reduce the risk of exploration and the cost of field development. The mission of the business is to develop the next generation of interpretation tools in an intuitive interface that uses guided ThoughtFlows®, which can be used by all interpreters. Over three years in development, Paradise was released at the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) Annual Convention in 2013 and has been adopted by the International Oil Companies (IOCs) and National Oil Companies (NOCs) and worldwide since its launch. Geophysical Insights continues to build machine learning capabilities in the Paradise workbench, which is proving to reveal deeper insights into the seismic response. Built for large sets of data, Paradise is a ‘Big Data’ solution that easily scales from a single workstation to an enterprise. With adaptive algorithms that learn from the data that are enabled by high-performance computing, interpreters can extract more information from seismic and well data than would otherwise be possible from traditional interpretation tools.
