2026 GSH Spring Symposium
The Innovation Pivot: Geophysical Breakthroughs That Changed Everything
Geophysical Insights is pleased to support the Geophysical Society of Houston’s 2026 Spring Symposium, taking place April 22–23 in Houston, Texas. The event honors Dr. Tom Smith, founder of Geophysical Insights and a pioneer in modern seismic interpretation technology. Over several decades, Dr. Smith has contributed to major advances in how geoscientists visualize and analyze subsurface data, including the development of the widely used KINGDOM interpretation platform.
Today, through Geophysical Insights, Dr. Smith continues to advance the field by integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning into seismic interpretation. The symposium will recognize these contributions while bringing together geoscientists, researchers, and industry professionals to discuss new technologies and future directions in geophysics.
Highlights of the symposium include:
- A program honoring the career and innovations of Dr. Tom Smith
- Technical sessions focused on emerging tools and technologies in geophysics
- Discussions on the role of AI and machine learning in seismic interpretation
- Opportunities to connect with industry professionals, researchers, and students
