Upgrading a Paradise Client

1) To begin, navigate to the “Downloads” folder in Windows Explorer, or whichever folder you saved the Paradise install executable to, and right-click on the ParadiseSetup installation executable. Select “Run as administrator.”

2) There are two different upgrades that you may encounter, major upgrades and minor upgrades.

3) For minor upgrades, you will see a dialog informing you of an upgrade, as seen below. Click “Yes” to proceed.

Click “Finish” to complete the upgrade.

“Show the Windows Installer log” – This is a log of all installation events. Typically used if there was a problem with the installation.

4) For major upgrades, click “Yes” to continue with the installation.

5) Click “Next” to progress.

6) Choose to accept the license agreement. Click “Next” to progress.

7) The initial type of installation that was previously selected is pre-selected, so click “Next” to progress.

8) Additional AASPI Attributes for the Attribute Generator is not applicable to a Client install. Click “Next” to Progress.

9) Paradise Client is installed to the default locations inside the “Program Files” folder underneath a “Geophysical Insights” folder. Click “Next” to progress.

10) The path to the PDM folder is initialized in the “Use Existing Folders” edit field. Click “Next” to progress.

11) The computer that hosts the ParadiseIsland service is initialized in the “Windows Service Host Name” field. Click “Next” to progress.

12) Click “Install” to initiate the installation.

“Generate System Information report” – Creates a file, Geophysical.SystemInformation.txt, located at C:\Program Files\Geophysical Insights, from the “msinfo32.exe /report” command, that describes configuration information about the computer and its operating system.

“Generate IP Configuration report” – Creates a file, Geophysical.IPConfig, located at C:\Program Files\Geophysical Insights, from the “ipconfig.exe /all” command, that displays all current TCP/IP network configuration values. This file is used to retrieve the MAC address of the computer if a license file needs to be generated.

13) Click “Finish” to complete the Paradise upgrade installation.
